20x30 oil painting of Elk on the National Elk Refuge.
One evening in late December I pulled over along the National Elk Refuge to photograph this beautiful scene in below freezing temperature. The sun was starting to dip below the Tetons so just the mountain was covered in warm sunlight, leaving the refuge floor in shadow. The contrast of the warm light a blue shadows was amazing.
